This two-hour experience in Tokyo begins with participants putting on a traditional Hakama garment to prepare for the samurai sword activity. The session includes hands-on interaction with replica swords, allowing visitors to pose for photos in front of studio or samurai-themed backgrounds. The experience aims to provide a realistic samurai feeling rather than simple costume play. Following the sword session, participants receive a guided tour of the samurai and ninja museum, where a tour guide explains the history and context of samurai and ninja culture. Children under 10 years old are not permitted to enter the samurai venue. Transportation to and from the locations is not included. Real samurai swords are not used during the experience. The maximum group size per booking is four people, but the experience may include additional participants booked through other platforms.
Iaito Practice & Samurai Dress
An Iaito is a practice sword used in Iaido, the Japanese art of drawing the sword. It resembles a real Japanese sword but is made of a zinc-aluminum alloy that cannot hold a sharp edge, so it is not considered a weapon under Japanese law and requires no permit. Participants begin by wearing traditional Samurai hakama. Under instructor supervision, they learn basic Iaido techniques with the replica sword. Children under 10 are not allowed in the Samurai venue. Bookings can be made for up to 4 people via Viator, but other booking sites are accepted and there may be additional participants.
