by Scooter Snorkeling
This two-hour power snorkeling tour takes place at Turtle Beach near St John's, Antigua and Barbuda. Participants start by walking into the water from the shore at Galleon Beach. Each person uses a sea scooter, which provides powered assistance to move through the water with less effort than regular snorkeling. The tour explores the coral reefs and marine life around Galleon Beach and The Pillars of Hercules. An expert guide leads the group, pointing out species such as sea turtles, rays, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, conch, hermit crabs, and various tropical fish. All necessary equipment is provided, including a mask, snorkel, fins, a mandatory life vest, and drinking water. Photos of the activity are included. The tour does not use a boat and requires participants to be able to swim or have prior snorkeling experience. There is a weight limit of 300 pounds (136 kilograms). Shared pickup and drop-off service is included. Afternoon sessions generally offer a higher chance of seeing turtles, though sightings are also possible in the morning.
