This private safari in Udawalawe National Park lasts about three and a half hours and takes place in a jeep that holds up to six passengers. The trip includes pickup and drop-off within 5 kilometers of the park gate. The temperature averages around 27 to 28 degrees Celsius. Water bottles are provided, but meals and gratuities are not included. Entrance fees are covered except if you arrange hotel pickup outside the 5 km radius, which is not included in the price. The tour starts and ends in the town of Udawalawe, located at the southern edge of the Ratnapura District near the borders with the Hambantota and Monaragala Districts. Udawalawe National Park

This wildlife reserve covers almost 120 square miles and was established on June 30, 1972. It lies across the Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces and includes plains, grasslands, forests, marshes, and mountains to the north. The Walawe River and its tributaries run through the park, supporting its wildlife. The park receives about 1500 millimeters of rain annually and maintains an average temperature between 27° and 28° Celsius. It hosts over 94 plant species, 21 fish species, 12 amphibian species, more than 30 reptiles, over 180 birds (including 33 migratory species), 43 mammals, and 135 butterfly species.
