Overview

This tour lasts about four and a half hours and begins with a panoramic boat ride through the Venice lagoon. A qualified guide provides commentary on the history and features of the islands while passengers sit comfortably on a Grand Tourism motor-boat. The first stop is Murano, where visitors spend approximately thirty minutes at a traditional glass furnace. Here, a local artisan demonstrates the process of creating glass objects using antique techniques. Guests have the opportunity to purchase authentic Murano glass souvenirs. Next, the boat travels to Burano, known for its colorful, rainbow-painted houses and lace-making tradition. Passengers have one hour to explore Burano on foot. They can visit the main square, see San Martino’s Church which contains Tiepolo’s painting “Crucifixion,” and view the island’s leaning bell tower. Visitors may walk along the canals and streets, buy lace products, or try local biscuits called bussolai and esse at a pastry shop. If the option is selected, the tour also includes a visit to Torcello Island. The boat returns to Piazza San Marco by crossing the northern part of the lagoon. Food and drinks are not included, and hotel pickup is not provided. The entire experience is guided on board by an experienced tour guide.
