This kayak tour takes place on Vieques Island in Puerto Rico, known for its bright bioluminescent bay. The tour lasts about 90 minutes and includes a kayak, all necessary equipment, and a certified local guide to lead the group. Participants paddle through the Bio Bay at night to see the glowing waters caused by bioluminescent organisms. Travelers must arrive on Vieques Island by ferry or airplane and stay overnight, as returning to the mainland the same day is not possible. The tour includes transport by air-conditioned minivan and a tour escort. Hotel accommodations and ferry or airplane transportation to and from Vieques are not part of the tour and must be arranged separately. Children over 5 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 5 cannot join. The tour does not operate on days immediately before or after a full moon. Meet your group 10 Minutes before your TOUR START HOUR AT THE GAZEBO in front of Tradewinds Restaurant. After that, board your bus to the Bioluminescent Bay. Remember that you will need to sleep in Vieques for this activity. Wind through the mangrove canals and out to the edge of the sea by kayak. Beach your kayak and explore the beach as the sun sets. At dusk, launch your kayak back into the final rays of the sun. Paddle back in as the twilight deepens, reaching the inner lagoon just as the increasing darkness allows the stars to shine. The darker it becomes, the more the Bio Bay glows and sparkles with every touch of your paddle in the water. You will learn many of the secrets of this complex ecosystem from your knowledgeable and experienced guide.
