by RumSky Adventure
The tour begins with a short introduction inside a seated hall where a professional astronomer gives a presentation on astronomy using a large screen. Afterward, participants move outside to observe the night sky using large telescopes provided by the observatory. The low light pollution in Wadi Rum allows clear views of thousands of celestial objects. Attendees also use a powerful laser pointer to aid naked-eye stargazing under the guidance of the astronomer. The experience includes a group photo taken with a time exposure technique that highlights stars and other sky objects. Transportation is available free for most local camps nearby, though bottled water is not included. The entire activity lasts about 90 minutes and takes place near Aqaba in Jordan.
Disi Area Stargazing Start
Guests are picked up from local camps in the Disi Area around 7:45 PM in winter, with summer times varying. The experience begins with a 20-minute presentation about the cosmos. Afterwards, guests are divided into two equal groups. Group 1 follows a green laser light along a candle-lit path while a professional astronomer explains how to navigate the night sky, the daily and annual star rotations, constellations, horoscopes, and ancient mythologies over 35 minutes. Group 2 uses large GPS-computerized telescopes to observe galaxies, nebulae, planets, and moons, guided by another astronomer for 35 minutes. The groups switch halfway through, and the session ends with a group photo including night sky objects.
