Overview

The Waikoloa Signature Catamaran Sunset Sail takes place along the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. The cruise departs from Anaeho‘omalu Bay, where guests board a 53-foot power catamaran designed to carry up to 49 passengers. Shoes are removed and stored onshore before boarding for this barefoot cruise. The sail lasts between ninety minutes and two hours, depending on weather and sea conditions. During the trip, passengers can enjoy tropical cocktails, beer, wine, and unlimited nonalcoholic beverages, along with light snacks. The catamaran follows the coastline past black lava fields and turquoise waters, offering views of Mauna Kea and Hualālai volcanoes. The route includes sailing near Kiholo Bay, known for its blue waters and sea turtle sightings. The vessel pauses to allow passengers to watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean, with the opportunity to see the rare green flash on the horizon before returning to Anaeho‘omalu Bay. Onboard features include comfortable shaded seating and clean restrooms. Summer sailing times are from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, while winter departures run from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the minimum age to consume alcohol is twenty-one. If weather conditions cause cancellation, guests may choose an alternative date or receive a full refund.
