Overview

This guided walking tour lasts about two and a half hours and takes you through Stockholm’s Old Town, Gamla Stan. The tour starts at Gustav Adolfs Torg, in the city center, where you meet your guide. You will walk along narrow, colorful streets while visiting key landmarks such as the Royal Palace with its four museums, the main square Stortorget - site of the Stockholm bloodbath - and the smallest statue in Stockholm, Järnpojke, also known as the kid looking at the moon. Along the way, the guide shares stories about Stockholm’s history and how Gamla Stan developed. Stops include the Parliament Building constructed between 1895 and 1904, the German Church with its neoclassical style, the Knights Islet which features Stockholm’s first palace, Storkyrkan Cathedral with the Saint George and the Dragon sculpture, and the Nobel Prize Museum where the Swedish Academy awards the literature prize. You'll also see Marten Trotzigs grand, the city’s narrowest street, and the Royal Swedish Opera.
