The tour begins with a safety briefing. Riders then cycle along gentle grade 1-2 trails suitable for families, starting from Hawea. The route follows the Hawea River, passes through Albert Town, and continues alongside the Clutha River to Wanaka. The ride covers plateaus surrounded by mountains and takes about four hours in total. Along the way, cyclists see Lake Hawea, Pembroke Patisserie, Wanaka town, the Wanaka Tree, and the Edgewater Hotel garden bar. The tour includes a choice of e-bike or regular bike, a helmet with MIPS protection, a bike lock, puncture repair kit, a pump, and an 8L Topeak rear trunk bag to avoid carrying a rucksack. After the ride, an executive return shuttle transports participants back to the starting point.
