Isla Holbox is a known seasonal habitat for whale sharks, the largest fish species reaching up to 14 meters long. This wildlife tour lasts about six hours and includes a boat trip where participants can swim alongside these gentle giants. The whale sharks pose no danger, allowing close observation in the water. During the boat ride, other marine and bird species such as turtles, giant manta rays, dolphins, and flamingos may also be spotted. A light breakfast featuring coffee, tea, fruits, yoghurt, and sweet buns is provided before snorkeling. Guests receive snorkeling gear and enjoy a serving of the operator’s ceviche or guacamole or mango as a fish alternative. Cool water and sodas are supplied throughout the trip. This activity depends on the presence of whale sharks, which typically arrive after mid-May, and on good weather conditions.
