Overview

This whale-watching tour departs from Steveston, a historic fishing village near Vancouver. You board a modern vessel for a boat trip lasting between three and five hours through the Gulf Islands and the Strait of Georgia. A naturalist guide provides live commentary during the journey. The waters here often attract whales, with a 98% chance to see orcas (Killer Whales) and Humpback Whales. Alongside whales, you may also spot Dall’s Porpoises riding the bow, sea lions, bald eagles, and seals. Participants receive bottled water, a granola bar, and yellow windbreaker jackets for protection against the weather. Onboard restrooms are available. Each guest also gets an Orca Ranger activity book and badge. The company offers a whale guarantee: if no whales are seen, you can return for a free tour without expiration or transfer. A shuttle from downtown Vancouver can be added for an extra fee by prior arrangement. The tour begins with check-in at the company office in Steveston, where you can get information about the excursion.
