This full-day white water rafting tour departs from La Fortuna near Arenal Volcano and lasts about eight hours. The trip begins with a one-hour drive through plantations of papaya, pineapple, and yucca to the Sarapiqui River put-in point. At this location, trained guides provide a safety briefing and explain paddling commands before starting the rafting on Class III and IV rapids. The rafting includes the use of all necessary equipment such as raft, paddles, life vest, and helmet. Snacks, lunch, bottled water, and transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle are included. Hotel pickup and drop-off are available from selected hotels. Participants should be prepared to get wet and wear swimwear and secure footwear that will stay on during rafting; flip-flops are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages, gratuities, and souvenir photos are not included. The tour may be led by a multilingual guide and depends on weather and river conditions. If the river is closed due to flooding or government restrictions, an alternative or full refund will be offered. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Vegetarian meal options are available if requested in advance.

Set deep in the Costa Rican rain forests, Sarapiquí River, declared as National Patrimony, gives us the perfect blend of natural beauty and one of the best white water rafting in the country, with big waves and amazing technical rapids. After meeting with your river guide we will drive 90 minutes to the put in in where the fun begins! Your guides will explain the safety security procedures and safety equipment before embarking down the river. Then we will take the PLUNGE and start the adventure! Halfway through our journey we will “re-fuel” on the river bank and enjoy some delicious tropical fruits while soaking in the tropical surroundings. At the end of our journey, a cold drink and dry towel will await you before a short ride where you can change into dry clothes and have a delicious Typical Costa Rican Lunch.
