Overview

Initially, the Wulai Trolley was used for transporting timber. Due to the development of tourism at Wulai Waterfall and the increasing demand from visitors, passenger transport officially began in 1963. Tourists were initially pushed by manpower. To accommodate the growing number of tourists, it was motorized in 1974, using diesel engines to power the trolleys. In 1987, a tunnel was excavated at the Waterfall Station, overcoming numerous difficulties, to replace the original turntable, and it has been in use ever since. The operating route runs from Wulai Station to Waterfall Station, a total length of about 1.6 kilometers. It operates daily from 8:00 to 17:00, with adjustments to the operating hours during the peak summer season to serve passengers as needed. When visiting Wulai Old Street, the trolley is a popular attraction for adults and children alike. Schedule The Wulai Trolley does not have a fixed timetable. Departures are based on the number of passengers. Operating hours: Summer period (July-August): 09:00-18:00, other periods: 09:00-17:00.

Children aged 0-6 must be accompanied by a paying adult Children aged 0-6 can join this activity free of charge A paying adult can only bring 2 children. A child ticket will be required for each additional child This activity is free for persons with reduced mobility, but they must be accompanied by an adult. Discounted tickets are available for children ages 7-12 and seniors ages 65 and over, and can only be purchased on-site with valid photo identification.
No luggage storage facilities are provided on site. It is recommended to take flights before 11:00 AM or after 2:00 PM to avoid the midday crowds. The weather in the mountains is changeable; please check official announcements before departing. Based on safety considerations, the park will follow the regulations of the "Natural Disaster Suspension of Work and Classes Procedures." The Yilan County Government will announce the times for work and class suspensions; or the Forestry Bureau and management units may announce the closure of the park or partial closures based on the actual operational status of the park.
