This one-hour Jeep tour travels along the East Rim of Zion National Park, covering two notable landmarks: Checkerboard Mesa and Jolley Gulch. The tour begins by driving through a pine forest on the East side of the park, reaching a viewpoint overlooking Checkerboard Mesa. From there, the Jeep descends several hundred feet down into Jolley Gulch. At Jolley Gulch, participants may take an optional, unguided two-minute hike to a vantage point that provides a top-down view of the slot canyon, which drops about 200 feet between narrow walls. After the stop, the Jeep climbs back up, crossing the river bed multiple times as it returns to the Ponderosa Plateau and the original starting point.
