Which clan lost most at Culloden?
Survivors turned to retreat, but were met with British cavalry that cut down the men as they fled. In an hour, it was all over. On orders, English soldiers went through the battlefield, killing the wounded. In all, some 1,500 Jacobites died at Culloden, with only 50 deaths on the government side.
