Frequently asked questions
How far is the walk from the hotels to the venue?
All listed hotels are between 3 and 5 minutes’ walk from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Distances are measured as walking time, not distance — no hotel is more than 5 minutes away on foot.
Is breakfast served early enough to make a 9am start?
Breakfast timing varies by hotel and is not specified in the available information. Check directly with your chosen property for opening hours, especially if you need to eat before an early session.
Can I work from the room between sessions?
All listed hotels are rated 3–5 stars and offer rooms with desks and Wi-Fi. While reliability and speed are not specified, business-oriented hotels of this standard typically provide adequate connectivity for remote work.
Is it quiet enough to sleep before an early start?
Southbank is generally quieter than Melbourne’s CBD core, and these hotels are rated for business travellers who value rest. However, exact noise levels depend on room orientation and floor — request a quiet room when booking if this is important to you.
Do I need to book early?
