This full-day tour from Edinburgh lasts approximately ten and a half hours and includes visits to castles, the West Highlands, Loch Lomond, and nearby villages. The day begins with a drive northwest to Doune Castle, where visitors have about one hour to explore the grounds and castle. Next, the tour continues to the village of Tyndrum for a short comfort stop. Afterward, the group travels to Kilchurn Castle, located on the shore of Loch Awe, for a photo stop lasting around thirty minutes. The tour then proceeds to Inveraray, where there is a two-hour break that includes time for lunch by Loch Fyne and an optional visit to Inveraray Jail, a well-preserved historic prison. On the return trip to Edinburgh, there is a brief stop at the Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint for about fifteen minutes. The final stop is the village of Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond, where visitors have thirty minutes to walk around before heading back to Edinburgh. Doune Castle

The tour leaves Edinburgh at 8:00am and drives about 75 minutes to Doune Castle. Visitors may explore the castle for an hour. This site is known for its role in the TV show "Outlander."

After Doune, the bus travels approximately 70 minutes to Tyndrum. This small village at the southern edge of Rannoch Moor is where the group stops briefly for comfort breaks.

Kilchurn Castle

A short 20-minute drive brings the group to the ruins of Kilchurn Castle. This stop lasts around 30 minutes and is for taking photos only. The castle overlooks Loch Awe and has historical links to the Campbells of Glenorchy and the Jacobite rebellion.

Next, the tour heads 30 minutes to Inveraray, stopping near Loch Fyne. There is a two-hour break here, which includes time for lunch and an optional visit to Inveraray Jail, one of Britain’s best-preserved prisons.
