Transportation is provided by a private vehicle with an English-speaking driver, including air conditioning and bottled water. Fuel surcharges apply separately. The itinerary is flexible, allowing guests to add one or two additional sites beyond the main stops if desired. The tour begins with a two-hour visit to Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses with steep thatched roofs. Visitors can walk freely through the village and surrounding countryside. Next is a 20-minute stop at the Ogimachi Castle Old Site Observatory, which offers a panoramic view of Shirakawa-go village. The tour continues with a 40-minute visit to the Wada House, a preserved gassho-zukuri farmhouse where visitors can observe architectural details. Afterward, there is about one hour to explore the Hida Minzoka Mura Folk Village (Hida no Sato), an open-air museum displaying over 30 traditional houses from the Edo period relocated from the Hida region. In Takayama, the Takayama Jinya government office museum is open for a one-hour visit, featuring tatami rooms, an interrogation room, and a large storehouse with historical artifacts and documents. The tour includes a 45-minute walk through Kamisannomachi, a historic district with narrow streets, traditional shops, and local crafts and foods such as Hida beef and sake. Finally, there is a 30-minute visit to Takayama Betsuin Shorenji Temple, which has a three-story pagoda built in 1820, a Buddhist statue from the Heian period, and a ginkgo tree over 1,260 years old.
