This full-day private tour takes place in the High Atlas Mountains, focusing on the Berber village of Anwal, home to about 40 families. The day starts with a guided walk through the valley around the village. Guests then take a donkey ride through Anwal to observe local agriculture and village life. At a Berber family home, a cooking class demonstrates how to prepare traditional Berber dishes, which are then shared for lunch. Before lunch, there is a demonstration of traditional bread-making along with tasting of locally produced organic olive oil, wild thyme, lavender, and honey. Lunch is served in a relaxed setting, either on the terrace or on the floor as is customary. After the meal, the chef shows how to prepare fresh fruit juice and Moroccan mint tea. In the afternoon, guests walk about three kilometers through the valleys. The day ends with time to relax near the family home under willow trees, where bird watching is possible among more than 150 native bird species. The tour concludes with a return to Marrakech. All activities described are included in this private luxury day trip.
