by Rabbies Trail Burners
This small-group day tour starts with a pickup in London and travel by air-conditioned 16-seat mini-coach into West England. The first stop is Avebury Stone Circle, where visitors have about 45 minutes to walk among the largest prehistoric stone monuments in Europe in an open countryside setting. Unlike Stonehenge, the stones at Avebury can be touched and explored up close, including the village located within the stone rings. Next, the coach drives to Lacock Village for around 45 minutes. This village, mostly owned by the National Trust, retains 15th-century timber-framed cottages and streets. Visitors can see the exterior of Lacock Abbey and other locations familiar from films like Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice, and Downton Abbey. The final stop is Bath, where there are two hours to explore this spa city marked by honey-colored Georgian buildings. The route includes a walk across Pulteney Bridge and viewing Bath Abbey. Visitors interested in the Roman Baths can arrange their timed entry tickets online before the tour, valid between 2:15pm and 4:15pm, as admission is not included. This approximately 10-hour tour is led by a local driver/guide and limited to 16 people for a more personal atmosphere. Food, drinks, gratuities, hotel transfers, and all admission fees are not included in the price. The tour allows time to explore three historic locations with transport and guiding covered throughout.
