The Alcotraz Prison Cocktail Experience in Manchester lasts 105 minutes and takes place in a prison-themed cocktail bar designed to look like real metallic cells. Upon arrival, guests receive orange jumpsuits to wear. The event includes a theatrical performance where bar staff, called inmates, serve personalized cocktails behind bars. Guests must bring their own base spirit, such as gin, rum, or whisky, which they smuggle into the venue. The inmates then mix these with liqueurs, bitters, homemade syrups, and purees provided by the bar to create bespoke cocktails tailored to each guest's taste. There is no fixed menu. Participants may choose to cooperate with an inmate named Cassidy, who has a system to help hide contraband from the Warden, who tries to detect smuggling. The experience combines interactive theatre with cocktail making in a setting modeled on American prison stories.
