Overview

This walking tour begins with a visit to the transportation hub and shopping center at Ground Zero, where guests spend about 15 minutes viewing its architecture and learning how it represents renewal after the 9/11 attacks. Next, the tour proceeds to the 9/11 Memorial plaza for approximately 75 minutes, where the guide explains the significance of key sites including the Survivor Tree and the Reflecting Absence waterfalls, the largest man-made waterfalls in North America. Visitors then have the option to upgrade their visit to the 9/11 Museum, spending around one hour inside either on a skip-the-line self-guided tour or a VIP guided tour through exhibits of artifacts, media, and themed displays. Visitors may remain in the museum as long as they wish after the tour. The final stop is the One World Observatory, reached by a SkyPod elevator rising 1,250 feet. Guests spend about an hour on the three-level observation deck, which features 360-degree views of Manhattan, the See Forever Theater, interactive LED exhibits, video touchscreens, and dining options included with the visit. A local guide shares personal stories related to 9/11 throughout the tour. The total tour duration ranges from about 2 to 5 hours depending on selected options. The tour includes skip-the-line museum entry and views from 150 feet at the Observatory lobby. Gratuities are not included. The tour operates rain or shine, with much of it outdoors, so appropriate clothing is advised. Museum and Observatory tickets are date and time specific and cannot be rescheduled. All large bags are checked during security screening at the museum.
