Overview

This 4.5-hour electric bike tour starts in Plaka, a picturesque neighborhood in central Athens. Riders follow bike lanes and quiet streets to the Roman Agora, where they stop for about five minutes to see the Tower of the Winds, the Gate of Athena Archegetis, and the Fethiye Mosque. The route continues through the Ancient Agora, passing the Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles, the Temple of Hephaestus, and the Stoa of Attalos, with a brief stop to view and photograph the temple. Next, the tour passes the open-air cinema Cine Thision before heading through various Athenian neighborhoods to reach the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, a building designed by Renzo Piano. The ride then crosses the ancient city limits at the Keramikos Archaeological Site, which includes ruins of the potter's quarter, an ancient cemetery, and city walls. Afterward, the route reaches the Floating Naval Museum, where the historic Battleship Averof and the reconstructed ancient trireme Olympias can be seen. The tour includes a 30-minute break at Kalamaki beach, allowing time to rest, swim, or have a drink if the weather permits. On the return trip, the tour passes the National Library of Greece with its green rooftop, then continues through the Thissio neighborhood along a cobbled street. The last city stop is a viewpoint near the west entrance of the Acropolis. The ride then continues along the sea to Flisvos Marina, where yachts and speed boats are docked, and finishes at Alimos beach. Here, another 30-minute swim break is possible when weather conditions allow. The tour provides a top-quality electric trekking bike and helmet, a traditional pastry tasting, and guidance from an English-speaking tour leader. Hotel pickup and food or drinks are not included. Participants should bring a swimsuit for swimming opportunities in summer or good weather. The tour operates rain or shine, is suitable for riders 152 cm and taller, and is limited to 12 participants.
