Overview

This 90-minute event takes place in a traditional wind tower house in the Al Fahidi Al Bastakiya Historical District, one of the oldest areas of Dubai. It begins with Arabic coffee and dates served in the courtyard. Guests then enjoy a meal featuring a selection of authentic Emirati dishes and dessert, including Ligamat with date syrup. After the meal, tea is served, and a cultural talk called "Open doors. Open minds." is led by an experienced guide from the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. The talk covers topics such as Arabic culture, Islam and its influence on local traditions, cultural values, and common Arabic greetings. Guests are encouraged to ask questions about Emirati culture and traditions. The session concludes with an explanation of traditional Emirati clothing, and guests may volunteer to try on the attire. Water, Arabic coffee, tea, and dates are included. Transportation to and from the location is not provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
