by ViveTour Bacalar
This three-hour tour in Bacalar Lagoon begins early in the morning to paddle during sunrise. Participants use either a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) to travel across the seven-colored waters. The route passes through the Pirate's Channel, continues into the Mariscal Lagoon, and reaches the Mangrove Sanctuary. The path is different from typical tours, avoiding crowded areas and motorboats, and leads to quiet spots known mainly to locals. During the tour, a guided meditation session takes place to encourage silence and focus on the natural surroundings, including the wind and water, helping participants stay present. Included in the tour are breakfast snacks, tea, coffee, bottled water, and a lighted dry bag to keep belongings safe and dry. A bilingual crew manages all details to ensure a smooth experience. GoPro pictures are taken throughout the tour and provided afterward. Gratuities are not included.
Paddleboard Briefing and Breakfast
Following a brief introduction to paddleboard use suitable for beginners, the group will cross Bacalar lagoon. They will arrive at a designated location to have breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, special coffee, and Nutella toast while watching the sunrise. The tour includes explanations about history, geology, and biology, covering topics such as cenote formation, three unique features of Bacalar, distinguishing live from dead Stromatolites, pirate history, and a local tree species once nearly removed. A meditation session is included where participants lie on their boards, listen to birds, and relax. The guide will take candid photos during the trip and provide a link to the images afterward. Photos are taken with a GoPro to avoid phone damage.
