Overview

This private day trip from Bangkok lasts between about 7 and 14 hours and covers several highlights in Western Thailand. In the morning, the tour includes a motorboat ride through Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where you can try local Thai fruits and snacks. Following that, you take a train ride to the Mae Klong Railway Market to see vendors quickly clear their stalls as the train passes. Next, the tour visits a coconut sugar farm near Damnoen Saduak where the production of coconut nectar is demonstrated, including flower cutting and boiling processes. You will also stop at salt fields in Samut Sakhon province to see how sea salt is made using traditional methods and can even touch the salt. After a lunch provided at a raft restaurant near the River Kwai Bridge, the afternoon is dedicated to Erawan Waterfall. You hike through the tropical rainforest for about three hours, exploring all seven tiers of the waterfall and swimming in the green ponds. Admission fees are included. The day ends with a walk along the Death Railway and time at the River Kwai Bridge to enjoy the riverside views and take photos around sunset. The tour includes a private air-conditioned vehicle, hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, lunch and drinks, travel insurance, and all entrance fees on the extended route.

2

Mae Klong Railway Market (Hoop Rom Market)

Known as the “life-risking” market, this stop includes a local train ride to Mae Klong station. When the train approaches, vendors rapidly fold up their stalls and remove goods from the tracks. After the train passes, the market quickly returns to normal.

3

Coconut Sugar Farm

Near Damnoen Saduak, this farm demonstrates how coconut nectar is made. The process includes cutting coconut flowers, collecting nectar into bamboo containers, preserving it with wood, and boiling and pasteurizing it to produce the final drink.

20 min

4

Samut Sakhon

This stop shows how Thai salt farmers produce sea salt by rotating seawater through different evaporation stages using wind and sunlight. The salt crystallizes into mountains ready for cooking, skincare, and agriculture. Guests can touch the salt and take photos along Highway 35 in Samut Sakhon province.

15 min

5

Erawan Waterfalls

Erawan Waterfall has seven tiers stretching about 1,500 meters through rainforest. The top tier resembles the head of Erawan, a three-headed white elephant from Hindu mythology. Visitors hike for about three hours, swim in emerald ponds, and explore the park. Admission fees for foreigners are included.

River Khwae Bridge

Famous from films and books, the black iron bridge has steel plates for easy walking and viewing platforms between trestles for river views and to avoid trains. The tour includes lunch at a nearby raft restaurant. The area offers scenic views and photo opportunities, especially near sunset.
