Overview

This shared group tour lasts about eight hours and travels from Adelaide through South Australia's Barossa Valley, a renowned wine region. The tour includes visits to three to four wineries, such as Kersbrook Hill Wines & Cider, Chateau Dorrien Winery, Kies Family Wines, and Chateau Tanunda. At Kersbrook Hill Wines & Cider, guests spend about one hour tasting small-batch wines and handcrafted cider made using traditional methods. The tour then stops for about twenty minutes at Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, where visitors can sample a variety of local gourmet food products including preserves and sauces, and enjoy the lakeside setting. If preferred, guests may choose to visit an alternative winery instead of Maggie Beer’s. Chateau Dorrien Winery is the next stop for approximately forty-five minutes, offering tastings of elegant red and white wines in a rustic setting with vineyard views. The tour also includes a stop at Monkey Nut Café for about forty-five minutes, where guests can enjoy casual dining and coffee featuring locally sourced food. Lunch is served at Kies Family Wines during a forty-five-minute visit, except on Tuesdays when the food service is closed. The final winery visit is to Chateau Tanunda for about forty-five minutes, where guests can taste award-winning wines at this historic estate dating back to 1890. Throughout the tour, the driver-guide provides live commentary and light entertainment. Transport is provided in an air-conditioned vehicle appropriate for the group size, which can range from two to thirty people. Pickup and drop-off are included from hotels and B&Bs in Adelaide CBD and Glenelg, but not from Outer Harbor. The schedule and winery visits may vary depending on opening hours. The minimum drinking age is eighteen years.
