Overview

The tour begins with a pickup at the hotel lobby by a private car and guide. The first stop is Tiananmen Square, the largest city center square worldwide, where visitors see landmarks such as the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum, and Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum. After about 40 minutes, the tour continues with a visit to the Great Hall of the People. Next, the group walks from Tiananmen Gate into the Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum. This vast imperial palace contains 9,999.5 rooms and served as the home and ruling seat for 24 Chinese emperors from the Ming to Qing dynasties. Visitors spend around two hours exploring key highlights including the Meridian Gate, the Hall of Great Harmony, and the Imperial Garden. Following the palace visit, the guide takes the group to a local restaurant for lunch featuring authentic regional dishes. In the afternoon, the tour travels about 1.5 hours by car to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. This less crowded area allows for a two-hour hike, starting with a cable car ride to the halfway point. After hiking along the wall, travelers return by cable car. The tour concludes with a transfer back to the hotel. Bottled water, entrance fees, lunch, and round-trip cable car or toboggan tickets at the Great Wall are included.
