Overview

This private full-day bus tour in Beijing lasts about 8 hours and includes visits to four major landmarks: Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, along with all entrance fees, a local lunch, bottled water, and a private guide. The day begins with a hotel pickup where the guide will meet the group. The first stop is Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square of its kind, where visitors see the exterior of the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, Zhengyang Gate and Arrow Tower, and Tiananmen Tower leading to the Forbidden City. Next, the tour continues to the Imperial Palace, known as the Forbidden City. This large and well-preserved complex was built between 1406 and 1420, although much of the visible architecture dates from the 1700s due to rebuilding and renovations over the centuries. Visitors spend about three hours exploring the palaces and courtyards. After lunch, the group travels to the Temple of Heaven in southern Beijing. This site was used by Ming and Qing emperors for sacrificial ceremonies and prayers for peace and harvest over five centuries. The visit here takes about an hour and a half. The final stop is the Summer Palace, one of the largest imperial gardens in China. Originally a royal garden and temporary residence for Qing dynasty emperors, the tour includes a stroll through the gardens for around two hours. Following this, the group returns to the hotel by private transfer. All transport between sites is provided by private vehicle, and the guide handles all logistics including tickets and fees. Gratuities are not included.
