Overview

This best-seller private day tour from Hanoi to Ninh Binh lasts about ten and a half hours and offers many options for the boat trip and schedule. The tour begins with pickup from hotels in Hanoi by a private air-conditioned car and an English-speaking guide. The drive to Ninh Binh takes approximately two hours. The first stop is Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, where visitors spend one hour exploring the 17th-century temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties. After Hoa Lu, a Vietnamese lunch is served at a local restaurant. Following lunch, guests take a shared bamboo boat ride lasting about one and a half hours through either Tam Coc or Trang An, depending on the chosen option. The Tam Coc boat trip passes through three caves: Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba. The Trang An boat trip includes visits to several caves such as Sang, Toi, and Nau Ruou and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its cave system. After the boat ride, guests bike for about 30 minutes around the countryside village near the selected boat location. The tour continues to Mua Caves, where visitors climb nearly 500 steps to reach the summit of Lying Dragon Mountain and view panoramic scenes of the Tam Coc area. Entrance fees for Hoa Lu, Tam Coc or Trang An, and Mua Caves are included, as well as the boat trip, bicycle rental, lunch, and complimentary bottled mineral water during car transfers. The tour ends with a private car ride back to Hanoi and hotel drop-off. Dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free can be accommodated if requested at booking.
