Overview

This full-day bus tour in Hanoi covers key historical and cultural sites over about eight hours, guided by a local with at least five years of experience. The tour begins with a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda, dating back to the 6th century, where visitors can see Vietnam’s oldest Bodhi tree planted by Ho Chi Minh. Next is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex, including the opportunity to view Ho Chi Minh’s embalmed body and stroll through the gardens to see the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. The tour continues to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, which presents exhibits on the country's 54 recognized ethnic groups. Afterward, visitors stop at the One Pillar Pagoda, noted for its unique design and dedication to the Goddess of Mercy. The Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university during the feudal era, is the next stop. The final visit is the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, originally used by French colonists for political prisoners and later by North Vietnam for U.S. prisoners of war during the Vietnam War, known to American POWs as the "Hanoi Hilton." The tour ends with a return to the hotel. Included are hotel pickup and drop-off within Hanoi’s Old Quarter, an English-speaking guide, Vietnamese lunch, one bottle of water per person, and all entrance fees. Drinks, tips, and personal expenses are not included.
