The boat tour starts at the bridges of Ortigia Island in Sicily and lasts about one hour and ten to twenty minutes. The boat enters the "great port" of Syracuse and follows the Alfeo seafront of Ortigia. It then leaves the port to circumnavigate Ortigia Island, passing landmarks such as Maniace Castle, Fonte Aretusa, and Syracuse Cathedral, all viewed from the water. After completing the circle around the island, the boat heads north along the coast of Syracuse to visit the sea caves. On the return trip, the boat passes through the "small port" and navigates the channel that separates Ortigia from the city, passing under the Ponte Umbertino bridges before returning to the starting point. A guide provides historical and geographical commentary throughout the tour. There is an option to stop for a swim during the trip.
