Overview

The tour starts with a self-guided visit to the interactive museum at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery in Queensland, where visitors can learn about over 130 years of rum production and the methods involved. After exploring the museum, guests join a distillery guide for a behind-the-scenes tour inside the operational distillery. The tour begins at the Molasses Well, which holds up to 5 million litres of molasses supplied by the nearby Millaquin Sugar Mills. Next, visitors observe the fermentation and distillation processes used to make rum. The final stop is the Barrel House, where the rum is aged for at least two years before bottling. Following the tour, visitors may sample a selection of top-shelf rums at the Bundaberg Rum Tasting Bar. The entire experience lasts between one and four hours and includes access to the museum, the guided behind-the-scenes distillery tour, and alcoholic beverages.
