Overview

This private full-day bus tour in Cairo covers three key pyramid sites and the Sphinx at Giza, with an Egyptologist guiding you throughout. The tour begins with a visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza, where you can take a short camel ride around the site. You will also see the Valley Temple of Khafre, used for the mummification of King Khafre, and get a close look at the Great Sphinx, which has a lion’s body and Khafre’s head. Time spent at these spots can be adjusted to your preference. Next, you will enter the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the only surviving ancient wonder still standing and once the tallest building on earth for over 3,800 years. The site includes a valley temple buried under the nearby village and surrounding walls, which your guide will explain. Access inside the pyramid requires a special ticket, which can be arranged. After this, visit the Pyramid Complex of Khafre, the second tallest pyramid, where you will explore the valley temple and causeway. Entry inside the pyramid also needs a special ticket. You will also see the Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest pyramid at Giza, notable for its granite outer layer quarried from Aswan, over 9,000 kilometers away. The tour includes a stop at a panoramic viewpoint of six pyramids and Giza city, where you can take photos and enjoy the view for about 10 minutes. The tour continues to Sakkara to visit the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the oldest pyramid ever built, along with decorated tombs of nobles that display scenes of ancient Egyptian daily life. Finally, you will go to Memphis, the first ancient capital of Egypt, to visit the Mit Rahina Museum. Here you will see large statues including the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. This 7 to 8 hour tour includes private air-conditioned transportation with door-to-door pickup, skip-the-line tickets for Giza, Sakkara, and Memphis, a 20-minute camel ride, unlimited chilled water, a personal Egyptologist guide, and lunch. Gratuities are not included.
