by Canmore Cave Tours
This six-hour Canmore Rat’s Nest Cave Caving Adventure Tour includes rappelling down an 18-meter drop inside the cave. The tour follows the longest route available in Rat’s Nest Cave, featuring several tight squeezes: a warm-up squeeze, a challenge squeeze, and the Laundry Chute, which adds extra difficulty. Participants will climb, crawl, squeeze, and slide through various cave passages. All necessary caving equipment, including helmets and harnesses with specific size limits, is provided along with an expert guide. Before entering the cave, guests must hike uphill on a mountain trail for 30 to 40 minutes. Transportation to and from the cave is not included but can be arranged in advance. Snacks are not provided. This moderately strenuous tour requires a minimum of two participants and is not recommended for pregnant women beyond their first trimester.
Rat's Nest Cave
Explore Rat's Nest Cave, among Canada's longest caves. Participants will rappel down an 18 m drop, then crawl, climb, and scramble over uneven terrain to reach The Grande Gallery and The Grotto. The route includes some narrow wriggles and squeezes. The underground portion of the tour lasts about 4 hours.
