Overview

This four-hour afternoon city tour of Cartagena is conducted by a bilingual professional guide using an air-conditioned vehicle. The tour starts with a panoramic drive along Cartagena Bay, Pegasus Pier, and the public clock tower. Next, it proceeds to La Popa Hill, where visitors take a guided tour of the Convent of La Candelaria and enjoy the best viewpoint over the city. The tour continues with a visit to Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, the largest colonial military fort in the Americas, located on San Lazarus Hill. Afterward, the group visits Las Bovedas, former soldier barracks that now serve as a center for local handicrafts and jewelry, including Colombian emeralds. The final part includes a 30-minute walk through the Walled City to see its historic streets, squares, and colonial buildings, followed by a brief visit to the Monument to Old Shoes, inspired by a local poet. The tour concludes with a sightseeing drive through the modern neighborhoods of Bocagrande and Castillogrande along Cartagena Bay. An optional guided tour of a jewelry factory is available before returning to the hotel. Bottled water is provided, but food, drinks, and gratuities are not included.
