Overview

The Chassahowitzka River, located on Florida’s Gulf Coast, is fed by springs and features clear water, wildlife, and unique natural areas like The Crack and Seven Sisters Springs. This tour focuses on paddling in transparent kayaks to explore the river’s creeks and springs. The company offers two seasonal kayak tours. From November 15 to March 31, the Manatee Season Tours prioritize spotting manatees in their natural environment. From April 1 to November 14, Summer Springs Tours concentrate on visiting multiple springs, swimming, and observing local wildlife. These tours last about three hours and take place in 100% clear tandem kayaks with life jackets and paddles provided. The route starts at Seven Sisters Campground, near a quiet canal off the main river. Paddlers visit Seven Sisters Springs, where clear water flows over limestone formations and underwater tunnels connect the springs, allowing for swimming or viewing. Afterwards, the tour continues downstream to Baird Creek, a narrow waterway surrounded by dense trees and wilderness, accessible only by small paddle crafts. Wildlife such as fish, birds, turtles, and occasionally dolphins or manatees can be seen throughout the journey.
