Chongqing 1949 Grand Theater, located in Ciqikou Ancient Town Scenic Area, Shapingba District, Chongqing, is a large-scale live-action theater in Chongqing custom-built for the play "Chongqing 1949", and is currently the world's first single indoor theater. The Chongqing 1949 Grand Theater has a total construction area of 25,000 square meters, a building height of 28.6 meters, and can accommodate 1,497 spectators. "Chongqing·1949" is set against the backdrop of the eve of Chongqing's liberation in 1949, telling the story of "numerous CPC members imprisoned in Zhazidong and Baigongguan, enduring various tortures, unyielding and preferring death over surrender," recreating the grand scene of liberating Chongqing and defending the city. The story concludes on the day of Chongqing's liberation, when a group of revolutionary heroes, in order to uphold great ideals and firm beliefs, fell on the path of breaking through darkness and moving towards dawn, accompanied by the sound of gunfire announcing the liberation of Chongqing. "They sacrificed their precious lives for the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people," and thus, "the 'Hongyan Spirit' was condensed." This is a magnificent work that embodies the requirements for literary and artistic works to be "strong, moral, and warm," and to "strive to demonstrate the beauty of faith and the beauty of sublimity." It is a red historical drama that shoulders the era's mission of "promoting the Hongyan Spirit and inheriting the red gene." "Chongqing•1949" reinterprets the "Hongyan classic" from a broader spatiotemporal dimension, showcasing different narrative scenes in multiple dimensions at the same time, forming a spatial artistic conception with a montage interpretation, allowing the audience to experience a spiritual baptism of red culture through a highly impactful immersive experience and comprehensive, three-dimensional sensory impact.
