Overview

Discover the grandeur of Porto’s iconic Torre dos Clerigos, a striking tower adjacent to the Baroque Igreja dos Clerigos. Visible from many spots around the city, it stands as a symbol of Porto. Commissioned by the Clerigos Brotherhood and designed by renowned 18th-century Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, the church's construction began in 1732 and was completed around 1750. By the mid-1750s, the impressive divided stairway at the church’s entrance was finished, complementing the ornate Baroque facade.
