Overview

Cocoa Beach is home to diverse wildlife including West Indian Manatees and a protected bird rookery. This three-hour boat tour begins with a kayak paddle among manatees, where these large mammals can be seen rolling, sniffing, and nuzzling near the kayaks. Dolphins may also be visible hunting for food in the nearby cove during this daylight portion. After the manatee encounter, the tour moves to Bird Island, a federally protected area where hundreds of birds such as ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills gather to nest for the night. Participants float quietly as the sun sets, observing the birds flying overhead in the changing colors of the sky. The final part of the tour features a seasonal bioluminescence display visible in the water, which may include summer bioluminescent organisms, winter comb jellies, or viewing the moonlit starry sky. The tour includes a two-hour kayak rental, a professional guide, personal flotation device, and paddle. Gratuities are not included.
