The tour begins with a hotel pickup in Arequipa between 3:00 and 3:30 AM. The group travels north to Chivay, where a simple breakfast is provided. After breakfast, the tour continues west to the Condor Cross viewpoint on the rim of Colca Canyon. Visitors spend about one hour here walking along the canyon edge and watching for Andean condors. The tour then returns toward Chivay, stopping at Antawilke to see pre-Incan terraces, at the colonial town of Maca, and at the Yanque hot springs. At the hot springs, there is an optional one-hour visit to the pools; the entrance fee is not included. After this, a buffet lunch is served at a local restaurant in Chivay.
