Overview

This intensive walking tour in English lasts three to four hours and covers the main monuments of Córdoba with skip-the-line tickets included. It begins at the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, where visitors spend about one hour exploring the palace and fortress that was once home to the Catholic Monarchs and later a prison. The site features Mudéjar-style gardens and courtyards. The tour then proceeds to the Monument to the Lovers for a brief stop of about five minutes. Next, the route continues through La Judería, the historic Jewish Quarter, walking its narrow streets for approximately forty-five minutes. The tour includes a visit inside the Córdoba Synagogue, built in 1315 and one of Spain's best-preserved medieval synagogues with Mudejar decorations, when possible. If the synagogue is closed or lines are too long, the guide provides an explanation from outside. The tour also stops at the Maimonides Statue for two minutes and the Chapel of San Bartolomé, known for its 14th-century Mudejar architecture, for about two minutes. Visitors then spend around six minutes at the Municipal Souk of Crafts, located in a 16th-century mansion and displaying local leather, silverwork, and ceramics, sometimes accompanied by live guitar music. The tour continues with a two-minute stop at the statue of Mohamed Al-Gafequi, a 12th-century physician noted for advances in eye surgery. It also passes by the historic Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, housed in a former hospital building with a history dating back to the 18th century, spending about two minutes there. The final major stop is the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, where visitors spend about one hour inside this building that was originally a Visigoth basilica, later a mosque, and then a cathedral. The tour includes skip-the-line tickets to the Alcázar, the Synagogue, and the Mosque-Cathedral. Guests receive audio receivers to clearly hear the guide throughout the tour. Food and drinks are not included.
