This tour takes place on the Pacific coast near Sámara, Costa Rica, where dolphins are present throughout the year. The trip lasts about three hours and starts around 8:00 a.m. with a pickup by a professional guide and driver. Participants travel south of Sámara Beach aboard an artisan panga boat, sailing between two and ten miles offshore. During the boat ride, it is common to see dolphins, turtles, stingrays, and seasonal whales. After dolphin watching, the captain will choose a snorkeling spot based on weather conditions. Snorkeling takes place either near Isla Chora National Wildlife Refuge or on the coral reef off Sámara. Snorkeling equipment and life jackets are provided. After snorkeling, snacks are served on the boat to conclude the tour. Private transportation is included. Sea sickness medication is recommended if needed. For those mainly interested in snorkeling, an alternative tour focusing on ocean kayaking and snorkeling at Chora Island is available through Costa Rican companies.
