The Crystal River Manatee Swim Eco-Educational Boat Tour lasts about two and a half to three hours. It begins at the Crystal River Watersports marina, where participants arrive 30 minutes before departure to prepare for the tour. At the marina, guests receive wetsuits and snorkel gear to use during the swim. The boat then travels to Kings Bay, the only place where swimming with wild manatees is legally allowed. Certified in-water guides trained in manatee safety and CPR accompany swimmers to ensure respectful and safe interactions with the manatees. These guides also take photographs during the swim. The tour follows eco-ethical standards as part of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide program, promoting responsible wildlife tourism. Included in the tour are a local guide, bottled water, snorkeling equipment, live commentary, and local taxes. Gratuities and souvenir photos are not included.
