Overview

The Daintree Rainforest is one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world, located in Queensland's Tropical North. This full-day tour from Cairns lasts about 12 hours and travels in an air-conditioned luxury vehicle to Cape Tribulation. The tour begins with a guided walk at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, where visitors explore the ancient rainforest that is home to the Kuku Yalanji people. After this, the group takes a one-hour cruise on the Daintree River, spotting local wildlife including saltwater crocodiles. A ferry crossing over the Daintree River provides access to the northern rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Lunch is served in the heart of the Daintree rainforest, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available. Following lunch, there is a walk on Cape Tribulation Beach, known as the place where the rainforest meets the reef and named by Captain Cook. The driver guide shares information about the site during the walk. The tour includes a stop at Mount Alexandra Lookout, offering views over the rainforest canopy and where the Daintree River meets the Coral Sea, ideal for photos. Later, participants visit the Daintree Ice Cream Company to taste four local ice cream flavors made from fruit grown on-site. The tour then returns to Cairns.
