Overview

The Denver 2-Hour Twilight Ghost Walking Tour of Haunted Mansions begins at 901 Sherman Street, on the corner of 9th and Sherman, in front of the illuminated Archer Tower sign. The tour covers approximately 1.7 miles through Denver’s most haunted neighborhood during twilight hours, lasting about two hours. Participants walk along a route that passes several historic mansions and locations associated with ghost stories and local scandals. The guide leads the group outdoors only; no private properties or buildings are entered. Stops include the Crawford Hill Mansion, a large Victorian home once owned by Louise Sneed Hill, known for her elite bridge club and rivalry with Molly Brown. The tour continues to a block of Art Deco homes named after writers and poets, offering views of the Colorado State Capitol. Visitors also pass a former hotel that hosted Hollywood elites and Beat Generation poets such as Jack Kerouac, as well as the Patterson Inn, a sandstone building with Gothic design featured on paranormal television shows. The Pennborough, consisting of two joined Victorian mansions linked to Dr. Henry Tilden’s hospital, is another stop, followed by a historic property popular with photographers. The Molly Brown House Museum is included, known for reports of moving curtains and sightings of the Titanic survivor’s apparition. Additional stops are Denver’s most haunted street with historic mansions, a marijuana spa with eerie exterior carvings, the Peabody-Whitehead Mansion, known for numerous spirits and camera malfunctions, and the Sheedy Mansion, the largest on the tour, noted for sightings of the "Lady in red." Participants are encouraged to bring a smartphone for possible photos of paranormal phenomena such as orbs or shadows, though sightings are not guaranteed. The tour operates in all weather conditions and does not include entry into any buildings. A tour escort provides narration and guides the group throughout the route. The tour is not recommended for children under nine due to intense stories and requires adult accompaniment for minors.
