Overview

This walking tour in Mumbai lasts about two and a half hours and takes you through Dharavi, one of Asia's largest slums. A local English-speaking guide leads a group of up to six people through narrow alleyways, introducing visitors to residents and their small-scale industries such as recycling, ceramics, embroidery, and soap making. The tour visits key areas including the Recycling Area, Rooftop Visit, Popaddom Making, and Kumbharwada Pottery Colony. After approximately two hours in Dharavi, the group returns to the operator's office for about 20 minutes to enjoy a soft drink and hear about how tour proceeds support local educational projects. Lunch, water or a cold drink, and the guide's services are included, but hotel pickup and drop-off as well as gratuities are not.
