The Diamond Head State Monument Self-Guided Narrated Audio Walking Tour provides a narrated digital audio guide for the hike to the summit of Diamond Head Crater on Oahu. The tour lasts between one and three hours depending on walking pace. It includes detailed commentary covering the crater’s history, legends, cultural importance, natural environment, and its military use during World War II. The audio guide is designed to offer information similar to that of a State Park Ranger. Along with the audio guide, the tour includes a four-color souvenir map highlighting the trail and features of the monument, complimentary earphones to keep, and a team member who explains how to use the digital audio guide before starting. The hike begins near Waikiki and proceeds along the established trail to the summit of Diamond Head State Monument. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and bring water and sun protection. Admission and parking fees are not included and must be arranged separately through the official Go State Parks Hawaii website. Parking is limited, but Kama’aina residents with valid Hawaii ID qualify for free admission and parking.
