Overview

The tour starts with a meeting with a North Korean defector who shares her firsthand escape story, followed by a live question-and-answer session where visitors can ask about life in North Korea. Before entering the DMZ area, the group visits the Mangbaedan Altar, a historical site related to the Korean War. The tour then proceeds to the 3rd Invasion Tunnel, where visitors walk inside the tunnel that measures about 1.95 meters high, 2.1 meters wide, and 1,635 meters long. This tunnel was considered the most threatening invasion route compared to the 1st and 2nd tunnels. Next is a visit to the Dora Observatory, the northernmost point on the western front, offering views of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex and Songhaksan Mountain across the North Korean border. The tour lasts between 6 and 9 hours and is conducted by bus. Participants can choose one of several optional activities: a short 15-minute hike to a suspension bridge on Mt. Gamaksan, which is 150 meters long and was a former Korean War battlefield with panoramic mountain views; a visit to the Lake Majang Bridge, a Korean War site of intense battles in April and May 1951; or a boat ride on the Imjin River, which flows from North Korea into South Korea and was off-limits for 50 years after the war. Admission fees to the DMZ are included, as is a roundtrip transfer from Seoul and a licensed professional tour guide. Free hotel pick-up is available for groups of 10 or more. Lunch and travel insurance are not included.
