Overview

This half-day bus tour starts with a pick-up at a designated meeting point in Seoul before heading directly to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The trip lasts about seven hours and includes visits to several key locations connected to Korea’s division since the Korean War. At Imjingak Park, travelers see artillery and war relics along the Imjin River and visit Freedom Bridge, where thousands of prisoners of war returned to South Korea. Next, participants meet a North Korean defector who shares a firsthand account of life inside North Korea. The tour continues to the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, an underground passage dug secretly by North Korea; visitors walk inside and learn about its discovery. The DMZ Exhibition Hall follows, displaying photographs and artifacts related to the peninsula’s military history. At Dora Observatory, guests use binoculars to view Kijongdong village in North Korea while the guide explains aspects of daily life across the border. The route passes Tongilchon, a farming village within the Civilian Control Zone near the DMZ, giving insight into life under special border regulations. Depending on the chosen option, the tour includes a walk across either Gamaksan Suspension Bridge, one of Korea’s longest suspension bridges offering panoramic mountain views, or Majang Lake Suspension Bridge, which provides views of a lake and surrounding forest. After the tour, participants are dropped off at City Hall Station in Seoul. Transport is by air-conditioned coach, and admission fees, a knowledgeable guide, and the defector meet-up are included. Tram rides, meals, gratuities, and hotel transfers are not included.
